Albrecht Altdorfer (c. 1480 near Regensburg – February 12, 1538 in Regensburg) was a painter, the leader of the Danubian School in southern Germany, and the coeval of Albrecht Dürer.

He wwhen a landscape painter of religious & mythic representations; virtually all famously besides for even painting landscapes for their beauty & non as illustrating any story or parable, possibly the number one "pure" landscape painter.

His "Battle of Arbela" adorns a Münich Picture Gallery.
